This Season 2009
Before I get into our schedule, I'd like to point out that there is a new Metro Detroit Autosports Hotine!! It's now: 313-388-3301
Note- the event locations WILL be changing throughout the year. We want to find a quality lot of the right size, and will be "fishing" around for new locations. Please check the schedule below for locations.
August 2 - Belle Isle- RESULTS
September 13 Oakland University- RESULTS
NOTE: Events can change lots at the last possible moment. So keep an eye out here.
For ALL the above events, AROC will have a single event hotline- probably only turned on the day before the event: AROC Single Event Hotline: 734-623-1282
Event Details
Unless there are links above, all the events will be run with the following details for the 2005 season: Tech and Registration open at 10am, close 1pm First car should be at 11am or so ALL DRIVERS WELCOME!!! Cost- $15 for AROC members, $20 for DCSCC members, and $25 for all others. For the Belle Isle event, there's a $5 surcharge due to the cost of the lot.
The events will be run in council format, which means that there are no heats- each driver will run when they want, and hot laps are allowed.
Entrants will be asked to see a valid drivers license and proof of registration.
Weather permitting, we will be doing fun runs. These will be free to all who work the event, and $2 per run for those who don't. For AROC members, we get unlimited fun runs at the end of the event.
For more events check the DCSCC Home Pages , also here is a copy of the DCSCC Rule Book . AROC is a member of DCSCC, and strongly supports the other council clubs- Corvette Club of Michigan, Ford Motorsports Enthusiasts, Michigan Sports Car Club, the Sports Car Club of America, and the Volkswagon/Audi Gruppe.
Our cars
Among AROC members, we have 2 GTV's, 2 Spiders, 2 Mustangs, and 7 Mazdas. Wait a minute, not all of those are Alfa's.... Oh, yea, we don't require that you even own an Alfa to drive with us, or even to be a member. So if you have anything which could be fun, feel free to bring it out. I'd like to get some pictures, and place them on the side of this page...
One interesting note, the council has added a few new classes for heavily modified street cars. For details check the council web page for details. It gives a new place for cars like John Hoard's GTA jr/sr.
